The first class of W.I.S.E., World Institute for Sustainability and Education, students have graduated. The 6 students including 4 women and 2 men all raved about our primary teacher (Paulo Faerron) who is also in charge of our food production. With Paulo´s instruction the students learned about organic gardening while creating some nice gardens at Osa mountain Village.
We also had a guest speaker come up named Pia who taught the students about cob construction while they built a cob oven, pictured above. There are also pictures of our banana circle which was made to help filter our gray water and of course provide Bananas!
Also attached is a picture of our bio-digester. This simple contraption collects the gas made from manure (human in this case) and from that we get methane gas to run our stoves and cook our food.
It is simply amazing-with the right guidance-how easy and cost effective it is to be sustainable!
This week we have our first Webinar on Thursday at 8 pm CST. We have a limit of 25 people so please make reservations ASAP.
From everyone at Osa Mountain Village we would like to say:
THANK YOU TO: Matt, Julia, Karla, Mitzi, Donna and Vincent for helping us with our gardens and permaculture aspects.
A special thanks to Vincent for running his tail off to ensure a successful class.
Another special thanks to Matt and Julia for their input regarding our sustainable systems. They are truly experts in Permaculture having spent a year in Australia with Bill Mollison. More to come about Matt and Julia…
The next class starts Feb 10th. We have 4 spots left. If you know anyone who wants to join us in Paradise while learning from experts about sustainable living please send them our way. The Feb class is only $750 room and board included, future classes will be $995.
Another wonderful sunset at Osa Mountain Village…
